What's in my purse?

I've been meaning to post this but I never have time. Even though I work at home, I needed to relax and rest as much as I can and this is my 3rd Sunday to miss church. I guess I have a little time today for this.

So like I've said, I wanted to post this long time ago but I guess I never had time to do it and I wanted to try and play around with my new camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. I love it. It's very light-weight compared to my old Canon xti so I'm sure it'll be used a lot.

Balenciaga Grape Step 2007
Here's my favorite purse, a Balenciaga Step style in Grape color from 2007. I had to put my name on a waiting list for this here in Bal-NY but changed my mind and ordered it from Aloha Rag in Hawaii instead. What changed my mind was the snobby SA's (sales assistant) at the store. I'd rather take my business and spend $1095 (that's the retail price of the Step style back in 2007, not really sure how much they are now although I know the motorcyle styles went up $100) somewhere else where the SA's are friendly. So anyway, I received the inventory from Aloha Rag and ordered this. The SA was really friendly and I told her what kind of leather I wanted, LOL. And a week later, I got my purse.

I've used this purse way too many times and I know I have to retire using it for now. But before that, I took a picture of it and whats inside it.

Take a peek --

What's in my purse?

I have:
2010 planner
Amazon Kindle 2
iPod
2 lotions
travel tissue
Prada wallet
MAC makeup bag
perfume
NARS lipgloss (which should have been inside the makeup bag)
eye drops
TUMS (I needed this because I constantly have heartburn since I got pregnant)
hand sanitizer
lip balm
Balenciaga black mirror (from my black first, I couldn't find the mirror that came with this purse!)

That's my essential stuff that I carry everyday. And now that I have a point and shoot camera, that goes inside too. I'll post what's inside my makeup bag next time.

Laterz... Time for my nap :)

New camera!

I've had my Canon Rebel XTI for a little over 2 years and as much as I love it, I hate carrying it! It's too bulky and heavy for me. I've used it more indoors (parties, family events) than outdoors and it's such a waste letting it collect dust. I've been contemplating for a while about selling it and getting a Canon T1i but the only reason is because of the HD video capability, but it's basically the same thing - a heavy ass camera. And since my bf have a Canon 50D, there's really no need for me to keep mines so I made up my mind to sell my XTI. My bestfriend asked me before if I wanted to sell it because his girlfriend wants one. So when I told him I am selling it, no second thoughts and hesitations. Matter fact, she picked it up earlier. I was tad sad to let it go but I'd rather have somebody that I know to use it, hopefully as much as I have used it. LOL, I know I can be a bit sentimental.

It was a debate last night between a Canon G11 and a Panasonic Lumix LX3, but the Lumix won lol. People may think I am crazy for ordering it already even before playing with it on a store, but I've read enough reviews and there's no way I can go out and try it out on a store anyway. And yes, I am very impatient like that. Besides, I am gonna order online anyway (but from an authorized dealer) so I don't have to pay NY taxes. Hoping to get it by the end of the week, since the store is only in New Jersey. Of course I ordered a 16gb memory card too.

Now I'm on a search for a case. I prefer a leather case, but we'll see..

Baby stuff...

I meant to post an entry yesterday but didn't have a chance to.

Anyway, it's true when they say that a pregnant woman's "nesting instnict" comes when she's about to give birth soon. I'm on my 34th week of pregnancy and yesterday I started washing baby clothes that we received from my (2) baby showers. The first one was in New Jersey when we celebrated Christmas Eve/Day with my family. My aunts and cousins brought their gifts - crib, playard, car seat, basinet, diapers, bottles, clothes, blankets, etc. Then the second bay shower was 2 weeks ago with our friends. It was really nice to see our friends and everybody else. We received more clothes, blankets, diapers, toys, etc. Basically we have almost everything. Though we're missing some essentials, I used the giftcards we received and bought them online yesterday.

Speaking of online shopping, I picked up a bad bad habit again. Online shopping. Since working from home, I feel like I'm on a house arrest, minus the ankle bracelet. One time my bestfriend picked me up and we went out for lunch and I tagged along with them to deliver a gift and I was bombarded by emails from my manager and co-worker. SMH. It really pissed me off, they came really wrong to me. Yeah I admit that I was still "under clock" but if you've read the emails they both sent me, you would be really upset too. And the thing is, they don't really need me like that. A request was not that important that cannot wait to be done after a couple of hours. I was literally pissed off. So yeah, this is one thing that came bad from working from home. You don't know what's going on around the office, people get envious of the fact that you are home and you are not aware of who's talking who behind your back. When I'm at work, I work. I'm probably the most unfriendliest person in the office. I do not go out to lunch with anyone unless its a department lunch that I have to go to. So I know the only reason talk behind somebody's back is for office politics. LOL, like they're gonna win an award or something. I really could care less, it's just work. I once received one of those forwarded emails. At the bottom it says something that when you're gone, your job can replace you the next day but your family can never replace you. It's something like that, you know what I'm trying to say. So anyway, online shopping kept me sane while working from home.

My doctor sent me to the hospital again 2 Thursdays ago, of course due to high blood pressure. I told him that he makes me nervous, LOL. It's true, I get to the office mad tense. As much as I try to relax, I dunno why I can't. So anyway, we had to spend half a night to the hospital to monitor me and the baby. We're both okay, but I know it's better to be on the safe side.

I'm out. Gonna try to relax, I'm having headache since last night.

Working remotely...

...aka working from home. I went to see my doctor last week and she wanted me to stay home for the remaining of my pregnancy. Figured the commute is stressing me too much so it's better if I'm home and be on bed rest. While I love that idea, I am sure that in a week or so I'll be bored out of my mind and I really would rather not use my maternity leave this early. I'm not due until second week of March and I'd rather use my maternity leave after I give birth. With that being said, I asked my doctor if it is okay if I work from home, and she said yes! Oh what a joy! LOL. So came Monday, I laid out my plan to my manager and we spoke to our boss (CFO) and they both agreed that I indeed can work from home. So yesterday was my "last day" and starting today I worked in the comfort of my bed! I'm so happy that they let me do it. I really don't have to be at work physically since everything I do is on a computer. They can send me everything through email and I'll still be able to function my job.

Anyway, I got a Kindle 2 last week. I've actually wanted to get it since their price drop in October but was in-between the Kindle 2 or the Nook. And since I couldn't wait until February, I choose the Kindle instead. And I love it! I've actually finished reading The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo over the weekend. I have the hardbound copy of the book but I refuse to carry it everyday since it's so heavy and the Kindle made it possible for me to go back into reading again, LOL. I started reading The Girl Who Played with Fire the other night, it's from the same author, Stieg Larsson of The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. I'm kinda iffy bringing the Kindle with me when I'm out and about because it's so bare. I ordered a case already, but I'm still waiting for it from the mail. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow.

I'll probably be able to blog more often now that I have "free" time.

Oh, I hope you guys had a great holidays. I did. :)

Update!

So I've been m.i.a. for 3 months. Maybe some of you know and some don't. I'm expecting a child, actually I'm on my 7th month of pregnancy. Some people have asked me if I created a pregnancy blog. No, I did not. Nor I intend to. It actually took me a while to tell people that I am pregnant, aside from our family of course. I waited until it's "safe", after my first trimester ended.

Anyway, I started my 7th month this week and I can't wait to meet our baby! Sometimes she moves a lot and not that it bothers me but it gets uncomfortable at times. There are nights when I stay up for hours and couldn't go back to sleep, on top of having to get up 3-5 times every night to use the bathroom. Though, I'm getting used to it anyway. We haven't bought anything yet. Except for couple pair of crib booties on eBay, hehe. One of my goals this week is to make lists of the things we need to get, and budget too. The baby gift registry on BabiesRUs and Amazon that we created could be a huge help (mental note). And since I am not doing any Lamaze classes, I opted to order this Childbirth class dvd from Amazon.

I've also been seeing my doctors a lot. 2 doctors. Every two weeks. One is my regular OB and the other is another OB but he checks over my blood pressure. I have to do all these tests and check my BP twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. That's the only struggle I am having with this pregnancy, my blood pressure getting real high. My doctor said that pregnant women around this time should instead have low BP and mine is the other way, it's not good for me and definitely bad for the baby. So I have to constantly monitor it, although I've never really seen it low, or at least normal. It gets me frustrated and it gets D frustrated too but what else can I do? I am staying away from sodium (salty foods) and I go out (most of the time) for a walk during my lunch break, but it just wouldn't go down. I need to isolate myself and stay at a relaxing place with nobody to piss me off. Like really in the morning on my way to work, nobody gives up their seat on the subway. I am 7 months pregnant and who can miss that? Men would pretend like they are sleeping as soon as they see me walk in the train (funny I know but seriously, people do that). So who wouldn't be aggravated with that? Then I get to work and people love to talk my ear off. I am so tired of it. I'm nice and all but I have limits too. I don't need to listen to your hatred to the government, the company you work at, why you have to work, health remedies, etc. I always have my earphones on, listening to music but people don't take it as a hint that I wanted to be left alone, LOL. What else can I do to suggest that I don't wanna hear it, really? So yeah, that is 1 of my major dilemma. How do I keep sane, calm & relax if everywhere I turn people just aggravate me? I swear I need to disappear for the next 4 months.

Anyway, there goes my update and rant for the day. Hopefully I'd be able to give updates, if anyone is interested.

Chanel Jade Nail Collection

Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, created the Jade Nail Collection with two limited edition nail enamels in sure-to-be-coveted colors “Jade” and “Jade Rose” for the Ready-to-Wear Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 runway show. These mineral-inspired shades transform the nails into genuine gems and recall the jade jewelry and the pink knit and pistachio tweed of the fashion collection.

“For the nails, Karl wanted a green shade to evoke the jade notes of the collection. I worked with our laboratories to offer him a monochromatic palette of 10 green shades. We chose the color that most resembled the green tweed skirt suit from the collection,” explains Peter Philips.

Available today September 10th at the CHANEL Soho Boutique, New York City in celebration of Vogues's Fashion Night Out.

For a limited time starting tomorrow, September 11th they are available exclusively at chanel.com, CHANEL makeup studios and CHANEL boutiques for $25 each.

I might splurge for these two beauties. I absolutely LOVE Chanel nail polish, I have blue satin and kaleidoscope polishes.
